On July 26, 2021, a great leader and organizer passed away, who made a big contribution to the development of science and education in the world, the region and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Professor Uktam Pardayevich Umurzakov as professor and rector of TIIAME has been a key person of the DSinGIS project implementation. Beyond the project, his contribution to the development of the scientific and professional GIS community in Uzbekistan was essential. He was a very honest and fair person. His humanity, excellent organizational and strategic skills will be lacking. We express our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, as well as to his colleagues, students and followers. We keep his memory forever.
